You guys rock! Also, “Make Mitch rich” has a nice ring to it. It rhymes, and it involves me getting money. It’d make a good chant.
I’ll definitely pick it up, Mitch. Time to get someone rich from this podcast whether it be the MM or the listeners.
Thanks, simon!
Mick Aloha: A Mac version will very likely be available down the line, once the framework I used gains OS X support. That probably won’t be for a few months yet, though.
Unfortunately a Windows version is unlikely, as the game (and framework) is written purely in Objective C, which doesn’t have much support on Windows. I’ll look into it once the Mac version is done, but I doubt porting it will be a viable option.
I do intend to send you guys a small donation – more as just my thanks for the show than for any advertising – but I’ll have to wait until sales pick up first. They’re not very good right now, but I’ve got lots more promotion to do. (I promise I’m done with the links in my Facebook statuses, though – at least until the next update.)
Don’t send us any money, Mitch, just make that paper. Once we release the If You See a Gator, Run From It iPhone app, the jack will come rolling in, boy.
Here’s an interesting story I came across recently involving the widow of US Marine officer and Japanese national, Hotaru Ferschke, fighting to remain in the country to raise her baby.

PS: You spelled the URL wrong in the episode title. Now how am I gonna get rich? Way to go, Apoc.
I’ll buy that app! Simon is right: it’s about time someone got rich around here.
Woops! Corrected.
We’re making progress! Since this episode was posted my sales went up INFINITY PERCENT day over day.
Which is to say they went from 0 to 1.
Mitch- If you have a banner/button/widget or something similar that we can put on the site we’ll be happy to. I’ll put them up on my other sites, too, and I’m sure we can convince some Moon Masters Irregulars to do the same.
Mitch – I seem to recall hearing that apple gets a 30% cut of your app sales…is this the case? Seems high but then again it -is- in the iTunes store; you should get decent exposure with all the iPhone owners out there. Good luck!
Jordan, you are correct. 30% is a bit high given the services Apple offers developers (basically none). On the other hand, it’s pretty low relative to most game publishing agreements, and it does open up a huge (albeit very saturated) market.
@Apoc: Thanks! I really appreciate you guys wanting to help me with this project. It means a lot to me. You could use either http://puzzlepanel.net/ads/ad_button.jpg or http://puzzlepanel.net/ads/ad_square.jpg – linking either to my site or directly to the app store with http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=332677513&mt=8
Also, I found an advertising agency called Project Wonderful (projectwonderful.com) that I’m using on a trial basis to get some more exposure for the game. You guys might want to check out becoming a publisher for them. They use an interesting model for ad payment that seems to result in a good deal for both advertisers and publishers. Maybe you guys could make a bit of cash off of it. And unlike Google AdWords, I don’t think they’d object to you guys telling people to click the ads
I posted a comment with links to some banners and stuff, but I think the spam filter ate it.
@Mitch,
Since purchasing Puzzle Panel I’ve become pretty addicted playing it. It’s quite an amusingly fun game in a way that it’s a little modified from the usual match-this-color-with-that-color-and-get-points-off-it type game. Two thumbs up, guy.
Thanks, Simon!
